Trash Disposal
BFI/Allied Waste is servicing Langhorne Borough for trash disposal, recycling and yard waste collection. Your collection day will be once a week on Wednesday. Each resident is allowed:
- Trash: 6 cans or bags and one bulk item per collection.
- Recycling: unlimited volume. Acceptable materials include:
- Newspapers, junk mail and telephone books. Please place separately within a brown biodegradable bag, or bundled and tied.
- Glass bottles, or jars (green, brown and clear), aluminum beverage cans, metallic and bi-metallic cans, #1 (PET) and #2 (HDPE) plastic containers.
- Leaf/yard waste: Please place yard waste in biodegradable bags, or cans or bundle and tie where appropriate (cut in four foot lengths), branches should not exceed three inches in diameter. Yard waste shall include: leaves, grass, yard trimmings, branches & Christmas trees.
Yard waste will be collected by the same truck/crew subsequent to completion of their trash collection route. - Items containing Freon can be scheduled on an individual basis by calling 1-800-BFI-BLUE.
The Borough will be billed for these items, they are not the financial responsibility of the resident.
