Langhorne Borough to Collect Earned Income Tax in 2023

At its meeting on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, Langhorne Borough Council passed an ordinance to enact an Earned Income Tax (EIT).

The tax will be assessed to Borough residents regardless of where they work, with few exceptions, and non-residents working in the Borough, at 1% of earned income and net profits.  Residents who currently pay an EIT in the municipality where they work (with the exception of Philadelphia) will pay it to Langhorne Borough instead. Non-residents who already pay an EIT in their home municipality will continue to pay it there. No one will be double taxed.

The tax will be effective on January 1, 2023.
