Emergency Preparedness Information

The Borough has information and resources available to help residents better prepare for emergencies. They can be found on the following pages:

Along with the 250th anniversary of our country, 2026 is a very special year for our town — it marks the 150th anniversary of Langhorne Borough. In 1876, the Bound Brook Railroad Company constructed tracks a mile south of the town, then known as Attleborough, and the President of the railroad named the railroad station “Langhorne” after Thomas Langhorne, on whose land the station was built. Soon after, Attleborough also changed its name to match in honor of Thomas’ son Jeremiah Langhorne, the first Chief Justice of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

This year, the Borough is celebrating its 150 years and beyond, from its original settlement by the Lenni-Lenape to our hopes for the future. Our 150th anniversary planning committee and our many wonderful boards, committees, and local churches and organizations will hold events throughout the year honoring the rich legacy of our town, how far we have come, and all that lies ahead. Whether you’re a resident or a visitor curious what all the hubbub is about, we invite you to join in and learn about the Borough’s storied history!

The celebration will begin with our “Langhorne 250/150 Starts Here!” commemorative tree lighting on Friday, January 30th. Decorative lights will be displayed on the tree at the Richardson House, at the intersection of Maple and Bellevue Avenues, along with refreshments and entertainment.

For updates on future 150th anniversary events, check our website and Facebook page. There is also a 150th anniversary Facebook page that is updated regularly with event information.

The Langhorne Borough 150th Anniversary Planning Committee is an ongoing collaboration between Borough staff, boards & committees, representatives from local groups and organizations, and residents who are passionate about our town and its history. The committee meets monthly and is hard at work planning events throughout the year in honor of the Borough and this momentous occasion.

For questions about the Borough’s 150th anniversary celebration, upcoming events, or to inquire about being involved in the planning committee, contact Planning Committee Chair Marianne Stahl at mariannestahl@yahoo.com, Borough Manager Mary Zimmerman at manager@langhorneborough.com, or Clerk Gabe Tenaglia at clerk@langhorneborough.com.

The Borough’s many organizations and committees plan wonderful events every year that bring our community closer, and this year they have a special significance as we come together to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Langhorne Borough. We will be sharing an events calendar every month to keep people informed of celebrations and other events.
