About the Zoning Hearing Board
The Langhorne Borough Zoning Hearing Board (ZHB), which consists of three members and two alternates, is a quasi-judicial body which makes decisions on matters pertaining to zoning within the Borough. The ZHB decides on interpretations of the Zoning Ordinance, hears challenges to the Zoning Ordinance and Map, makes rulings on applications for variances and special exceptions to the Zoning Ordinance, and rules on appeals to decisions made by the zoning officer.
The ZHB makes decisions at scheduled hearings, at which its members hear testimony and receive evidence. A ZHB application, along with all required supplementary materials, must be submitted to the Borough to schedule a hearing; once an application is received, a hearing must be held within sixty days. The Borough will post notice at the property no earlier than thirty and no later than seven days prior to the hearing. Property owners within 250 feet of the premises are also notified.
To bring a matter before the ZHB, please fill out the application below and send it to clerk@langhorneborough.com.
